BBK Electronics: The Biggest Tech giant in Asia.
BBK Electronics is the one name behind some of the biggest Mobile Phone brands in Asia & Worldwide. With brands like,

Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Oneplus, and iQOO
The Company owns 40% of the total Mobile Phone market share in India and became a competitor of mainstream brands like Apple & Samsung in the west.
But how did the company that used to make Non-branded generic Nintendo knockoffs go from that to being the Biggest in the Smartphone market? Let's dive into the history and find out the story of BBK Electronics.
History with the smartphone industry
2010 was the year when Oppo finally stepped into the Mobile phone market with a feature phone named Oppo-Real. This despite being a feature phone was a bit ahead of its time in terms of design and looks.

Different Brands, Different philosophy
While Oppo was trying new things in a completely different field, BBK came up with another mobile phone brand but this time with a different philosophy in mind. While Oppo was trying to bring new technologies and innovation into the market, Vivo was completely focused on sleek futuristic design & entertainment. Even the Initial tagline of Vivo was 'Camera & Music.
By Now it was already the time when the smartphone revolution started.
One of the most innovative phones in the market at that time was Oppo's N1, the device used to run on CyanogenMod OS currently known as lineage OS, and the biggest selling point was its 280 Degree rotating camera. After this, Oppo continued, bringing new technologies and innovations to the smartphone industry.
The Rise & Fall of Oneplus.
Then comes 2013 when Oneplus was created with a new motto and new target audience,
Oneplus's motto was very simple, High specifications, sleek design, low-mid range price segment.
This approach gave oneplus the name 'FLAGSHIP KILLER'. The journey started in 2014 with oneplus one and was going good till 2019. After oneplus 7T was released in October 2019, OnePlus got distracted from its motto and became a mainstream smartphone brand. And then last year with the Oppo-fication of Oneplus, it even lost its most loved perk which was the Oxygen-OS.
Race to No.1
While this all was happening with OnePlus, Xiaomi became the No1 Brand in India in 2017 despite BBK's dominance. To tackle this, BBK came up with Realme. The Oppo Sub-brand Realme had only one purpose, to defeat Xiaomi in its own game, and it succeeded to some extent. Realme became so popular in India in a very less time, but still, it was lacking in something which Xiaomi did from the start and it helped it become the No 1. It didn't take long for BBK to realize it, and as soon as they realized it, team BBK started selling phones online under the name of Vivo's 'U' & 'Z' series. But it didn't go as planned and that's exactly where the most recent BBK-owned brand kicks in,
if you guessed iQOO then you're absolutely right. iQOO got just as popular as Oneplus, and it kind of carries the old OnePlus approach to some extent, which makes it the new Flagship-Killer.
Currently, BBK Electronics is the second largest in the smartphone industry globally, and while Xiaomi is the biggest competitor, we now have one more to take on BBK supremacy, i.e. OnePlus's ex-co founder Carl Pei's Nothing. As claimed by the company it is going to revolutionize the smartphone industry. Well, the Date is not so far when we finally get to see how big the revolution Nothing brings to the smartphone industry.
