iQOO Z6 Pro: Could Have Been Better

iQOO Has released some of the best mid-range phones in India like iQOO z5 5G. But this time it seems like the new iQOO z6 pro is struggling to keep up with the benchmark that iQOO itself has set.
The average camera experience and the bloated UI significantly affect the overall experience of the phone. But on the good side, the powerful Snapdragon 778G processor, The smooth 90Hz display, and the superfast 66W charging can be the winning factors for this one.

So, let's dig deep into the specifications and features the new iQOO z6 pro has to offer, and if it is worth the price that you are going to pay for it.

The Display

iQOO never disappoints when it comes to the display, and to maintain that legacy this time too the new iQOO z6 pro offers a fluid 90Hz FHD display, which is not disappointing considering the price, But what disappoints is its design. Like it's 2022 and you're still expecting us to pay almost 25k for that waterdrop notch and that slight but still bigger chin? (really iQOO?). But anyway, let's talk about the display quality, this device offers a 6.44 inch 90Hz AMOLED display with the protection of Schott Xensation Glass. iQOO offers 1300 nits brightness in this device which is very impressive for a phone under 25k, and it has the support for Widevine L1 so you won't have issues while watching FHD+ content on OTT apps.

Performance & Software

To keep it simple and straight, the Snapdragon 778G is a very well-optimized processor. You won't have any issues with the performance even if you're a heavy gamer. And Accompanied by 12GB of memory, it'll be the best choice under 25k. if you want some good performance.
But when it comes to the Software Honestly I'm not a big fan of Funtouch OS, though it has improved quite a bit over the years, still, it's far from the well-polished software experience that the competitors like Motorola & oneplus provide in the same price range. The UI and software experience in iQOO z6 pro is not what you would expect from a phone that ranges between 20-25k. This device comes with Funtouch OS 12 which is based on Android 12. The UI has soo much bloat, UI feels laggy sometimes, and even after having such good hardware, it still does not performs as well as it should. Seriously it could have been better.

Cameras

It could have been better, NO seriously, the Camera is quite good if we see the hardware i.e the sensors but still, it does not feels like it should in a 25K smartphone. What's the point of using good sensors if they're not well optimized?
The iQOO z6 pro has a 54 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor with a 16MP shooter at the front. The camera setup can shoot 1080p @ 30fps from both sides.
The phone does not have OIS so the videos you shoot are not going to be stable. Though it implements EIS that too is not optimized well, so yea lower your expectations for Video recording in this device.
Talking about performance, the main sensor is actually good when the lighting is right and produces good enough photos even in low light. The ultrawide sensor produces average photos in good lighting and it's really not made for low-light photography. And the last 2MP camera is not gonna add anything to your photo, that's just for the papers.

Battery

The battery is where there are no complaints at all. It has a big 4700mAh battery which when paired with the Snapdragon 778G which is a very well optimized processor gives the absolute best results. With normal usage, the battery can easily last for a bit more than 1.5 days, but in case you run out of it, the device comes with a superfast 66W charger that can charge the phone from 0-50% in about 18 minutes. This is where iQOO should get some appreciation.

Overall, the new iQOO z6 pro is a good device for an average user. Considering the price range, the hardware is pretty good but the software experience could have been better.
For casual gaming and as a daily driver, this phone can perform up to your expectations.
