The Lockscreen.

With IOS 16 Apple decided to give the traditional IOS lock screen a major update, loaded with features and tweaks. The lock screen can now not only be customized according to our needs & wants but we can set them up to Change or Switch with Triggers like time and location as well. How? you ask,
Well, let's dive deep into IOS 16 to find out...

With IOS 16, Apple introduced custom lock screen clocks. Now you can switch between various lock screen clock designs based on your preferences.

Usual IOS 16 lock screen

IOS 16 gives you the freedom of choosing different clock styles with different fonts and color pallets, which fulfills the customization needs of anyone.
Not only this, with IOS 16, now you can set up custom lock screens for different scenarios and switch between them according to your choice, or you can set up a lock screen and link it to a particular 'focus-mode' profile. What's focus mode?
Focus mode is a new feature introduced to iPhones with IOS16. we'll talk about it in a bit, Let's finish up with the lock screen changes first.
The second most intriguing feature introduced in IOS 16 around the lock screen is the Lock screen widgets. Yes, you heard it right. Now you can add widgets to the lock screen of any device running on IOS 16. And this lock screen widget is not only limited to the system widgets, you can add a live widget on the lock screen. This feature uses the live API, introduced by Apple the live API help to track activities and services live through a widget. It can track services like your delivery position, live sports scores, and many more things.

Notifications in the bottom.

One more noticeable change in the IOS 16's lock screen is that the notifications are now shifted to the bottom of the screen and can be hidden by swiping down on them, which turns the notifications into a toggle that lies between the flashlight and camera icon in the bottom of the screen.
And lastly one of the minor updates in the IOS 16 is that now face ID works even in landscape mode.
Below are some screenshots of how the new Lock screen looks:

The focus mode.

Focus mode is also one of the major features that come with IOS 16. The focus mode is a profile system that filters the content of your phone according to the focus profile you're in. And depending on which profile you're on, you can set up different lock screens and home screen setups. The focus mode will filter the content of your calendar, mail, and safari depending on what mode you're on.
Like if you're on the work profile, Your calendar will only show your professional tasks and schedules, your mail only shows the professional emails and hides the rest, and the same goes for safari.
And to make this process more seamless, IOS 16 provides you the feature to trigger different focus mode profiles according to time, or location. The focus mode can easily boost your workflow and productivity if used properly.
With all the UI customizations and focus mode combined, you can easily make a proper profile-based system that will give you a clean and distraction-free workflow.

Updated iMessage

With IOS 16, the iMessage app got new features as well. The long-awaited, edit text and unsend options are now live with IOS 16.
Now, all the devices running on IOS16 will be able to edit any text sent through the iMessage app for the next 15 minutes of sending it. And the same applies to unsend as well, if you sent a text to someone through the iMessage app, you can unsend the message until 15 minutes after sending, Given that the receiver has not read it yet.
